To give every runner the ability to race in the historic Canyons and on the Western States Trail and to share the rich history of our sport, the Gold Rush days and the beauty of the Sierra Nevada and American River.

Abbey Drake, Co-Race Director
I had been race directing for several years and met Chaz Sheya at Tahoe Rim Trail 100M in 2015. After that, I was all in and was honored to assist in helping to make Canyons the incredible race it has become. I started with "hospitality" and everything bloomed from there.

Sean Flanagan, Co-Race Director
I was actually signed up for the Canyons 50k in 2015 and had attended a training run prior to the race. I met Chaz for the first time, who was hosting an Aid Station during the training run. We quickly became good friends, and I somehow found myself volunteering at Canyons that year and not racing. To this day, I do not regret making that decision and cherish what we have built together.
